The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned rookie Anthony Brown to their D-League affiliate, the D-Fenders, the organization announced via press release. Brown has played just nine minutes through the regular season, behind Kobe Bryant, Nick Young and Metta World Peace in the team's rotation. He's appeared in just three games despite filling out the Byron Scott's starting lineup through most of preseason.
It's a prime opportunity for L.A. to assign Brown for some on-court time, though. The Lakers are off until Friday, giving them a huge window of downtime. Instead of letting their second-round pick from the 2015 draft collect more cobwebs, finding some floor time for him to play organized basketball is a positive.
