MINNEAPOLIS – The unanswered question explained why Lakers governor Jeanie Buss felt uneasy despite making sweeping changes to the front office.
“Next season, Los Angeles is hosting the NBA All-Star Game at Staples Center and I’m concerned we won’t have an All-Star on the team,” Buss said on a recent podcast with Forbes Sports Money. “That would break my heart.”
The Lakers’ 119-104 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday at Target Center highlighted why Coach Luke Walton and others in the organization are uncertain of whether the existing roster has a player who can reach those heights by next season.
