ATLANTA – Kobe Bryant said he doesn’t think about the 2004 Finals loss to the Detroit Pistons too much anymore, not unless someone brings it up. He has let it go, in other words.
But that series is now a topic of conversation as Sunday will mark his final game against the Pistons in Auburn Hills. On Saturday, Bryant, in his 20th season with the Lakers, reflected on that series with his usual blunt honesty.
“They were a better team,” Bryant said after practice here before the team boarded a flight to Michigan. “They executed extremely well.
