SACRAMENTO – It took just two days into the regular season for Kobe Bryant to land on the Lakers’ medical report.
The diagnosis? Sore throat.
The 37-year-old skipped the team’s morning shoot around in an effort to be ready to play when the Lakers take on the Sacramento Kings at 7 p.m. at Sleep Train Arena.
Coach Byron Scott said Bryant “will be all right” and that he expected him to play.
“He’s gone through a whole lot worse than a sore throat and a little bit of a cold,” Scott said.
The Lakers are 0-1 after an opening night loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and looking to avoid a slow start similar to the 0-9 stretch to begin last season.
