In honor of the Pac-12’s 100th anniversary, the conference announced its All-Century Team on Tuesday night. At the center of attention was legendary Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was named Player of the Century, as voted on by 114 panelists.
Abdul-Jabbar starred at UCLA from 1967-69, leading the Bruins to three consecutive national championships and an 88-2 record, while being named both National Player of the Year and Final Four Most Outstanding Player each year.
But that was just a hint of what was to come for the Hall of Famer. He won six NBA titles, including five with the Lakers, while also garnering a league-record six MVP trophies, half of which came in Los Angeles.
