The Kansas City Chiefs fell just short of rare air after falling 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
A Chiefs victory would have made them the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls. Kansas City did make some history in just getting to New Orleans, though -- it is the first team to make it to a Super Bowl after winning back-to-back Super Bowls.
Across the NBA, MLB, NHL and WNBA, there have been 14 instances when a team has won three straight titles. Since 1970, that number is limited to just eight.
