Isaiah Thomas expected to miss four months after successful hip surgery

After reportedly undergoing a successful hip surgery on Thursday, Isaiah Thomas is expected to be out at least four months, according to the report by the Lakers’ official Twitter account.

The 29-year-old point guard could be back in time for training camp, but it’s unclear whether or not it will be with the Lakers at this time. Thomas will hit unrestricted free agency on July 1.

In 17 games with the Lakers, Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 5 assists per game while seeing 26.8 minutes per contest off the bench. Thomas started only one game for Los Angeles this season, despite having reservations about coming off the bench.
