For the second straight game, the Lakers will likely be without Kobe Bryant, as the 37-year-old recovers from a lower-leg contusion sustained during Tuesday’s exhibition in Las Vegas.
Head coach Byron Scott initially considered Bryant questionable for Monday’s game against Portland, but quickly changed his mind.
“To be honest with you, he probably won’t play,” head coach Byron Scott said. “I’d rather get him as close to 100 percent as possible. These games don’t mean anything.”
Scott considers this move precautionary. Before putting Bryant back into the lineup, the head coach wants to see him run at full speed, as he is currently just jogging and shooting.
