Don’t worry, be happy: No, D’Angelo Russell isn’t a bust yet.
The preseason used to be a relaxed time, even if NBA players have to trek off to far-flung regions like the Lakers in Hawaii, or to foreign lands like the Clippers in China, possibly on the theory that they’ll soon be worn down anyway so what can another 10,000-20,000 miles hurt?
Nothing counts until Opening Night ... or, at least, it didn’t used to.
In Lakerdom where yearning, desperation and panic run neck and neck, there’s already concern about Russell.
Of course, his career now consists of five summer league games (one of which was great) and two in preseason or, in other words, no NBA games.
