Nothing, not even a 23-point deficit to the Clippers could keep the Golden State Warriors from sustaining their undefeated streak Thursday night. It stood at 13 games and likely counting, including when the Lakers play in Golden State on Tuesday.
“The only thing that can stop them are injuries,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said before Friday’s game against Toronto at Staples Center. “They don’t have that championship hangover. I think they want more, which is scary.”
The current Warriors reminded Scott of the Showtime Lakers in 1988 when they proved Pat Riley’s prediction correct at the championship parade the year before that his team would repeat.
