An MRI on Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell confirmed his initial diagnosis of a calf strain and MCL sprain, the team announced on Saturday. The MRI also found a bone bruise, with all three injuries being sustained by Russell’s right leg. The Lakers estimate that Russell will miss “one-to-two weeks and will be re-evaluated in one week.”
Russell collapsed in the first minute of the Lakers’ Friday night win over the Indiana Pacers after an awkward collision between himself and Julius Randle. He is averaging 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season, and the Lakers are 2.
