EL SEGUNDO – For the first time perhaps ever, Coby Karl seems at peace.
He no longer needs to prove he has enough talent to play for a Division I college program. He no longer needs to grind through minimal playing time to maintain a spot on an NBA roster. He no longer needs to toil in the Development League or play overseas to satisfy his hoops fix. He no longer seems as worried about being the son of a Hall of Fame coach, and he no longer needs to worry about cancer, having already overcome the disease twice.
