EL SEGUNDO – The primary figures in the Lakers backcourt, not only for the upcoming season, but presumably for many more, will be Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell.
But Clarkson has played only one season and Russell, though highly regarded, is a rookie.
That’s why Marcelo Huertas could be so important this season.
The 32-year-old point guard with tons of international experience, an Olympian for Brazil, and a winner of Spanish league championships, made the jump to the NBA this week when he signed a minimum contract to join the Lakers.
