The promising rookie looked calm as he sat by his locker before his preseason debut. Despite his unassuming personality, however, it turns out Brandon Ingram can act pretty well.
Underneath his calm exterior bore a man becoming anxious before and during the Lakers’ 103-84 victory in their preseason opener against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at Honda Center.
The reasons are understandable. The Lakers expect plenty out of Ingram as their No. 2 pick. The 19-year-old Ingram also expects plenty from himself in bringing the Lakers some purple-and-gold prosperity.
On Tuesday, though, Ingram brought the Lakers a quiet performance by posting two points, missing all five of his shot attempts and grabbing two rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench.
