It’s been over a week since Magic Johnson resigned as president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers and there hasn’t been any indication that they’re actively looking for a replacement. In fact, most signs point general manager Rob Pelinka taking the reins of the team’s day-to-day basketball operations going forward.
However, there was an interesting development on Wednesday. During an appearance on Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times said that in spite of everything that has came out saying otherwise, Pelinka won’t assume the role as president of basketball operations for the Lakers:
Cowherd: Pelinka, I’m told, will not get the No.
