Anthony Davis has been the media’s focus during the 2018-19 NBA season recently given the uncertainty of his future with the New Orleans Pelicans.
After Davis’ seventh season with the Pelicans, he will be eligible for a five-year, $240 million contract extension.
However, that may be the only reason he would commit to the Pelicans as they are struggling in the Western Conference. They are currently 15-18 with their most recent loss coming against LeBron James the Los Angeles Lakers.
After the 112-104 loss, Davis said he is more focused on creating a legacy rather than trying to get paid, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:
“I’d take legacy over money,” Davis told Yahoo Sports after posting game highs of 30 points and 20 rebounds to go with five assists in Friday’s loss.
