Going for a loose rebound at the end of the first half, Anthony Davis appeared to get his thumb pulled back while trying to fight for the ball, instantly yanking it back towards his chest in pain and heading back to the bench in the closing seconds. He did not return to start the second half against the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Carmelo Anthony starting in his place, but Davis later returned less than two minutes into the third quarter with a wrap on his right hand, with the Lakers saying he suffered a right thumb sprain.
