PHILADELPHIA >> The recollection might sound blasphemous to Lakers fans. But Jordan Clarkson could not help himself.
The Lakers’ third-year guard loved when former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson crossed up former Lakers guard and Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue in Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals. After making a jumper that caused Lue to fall, Iverson stepped over him. That moment captured why Clarkson considered Iverson his favorite player growing up.
“A lot of people criticized him for whatever. But at the end of the day, he’s going to be Allen,” Clarkson said before the Lakers’ 100-89 victory over the Sixers on Friday at Wells Fargo Center.
