LOS ANGELES – It’s not often that NBA teams complain of heavy legs and general fatigue two games into the season. But that was the position the Lakers were in over the weekend, after falling to 0-2.
On Sunday, Lakers players conceded that the grind of Byron Scott’s training camp, coupled with their own strenuous regimens, caught up to them.
“Coach is known for his pretty tough training camps,” forward Ryan Kelly said, “and everybody knows that.”
The purpose, Kelly said, is to ensure no game is tougher than practice, to build stamina for the regular season.
