After nearly 20 years of sitting vacant, the former Adray’s building in Orange will finally have a new tenant: a Fresenius Kidney Care Center.
Adray’s, a family-owned electronics store, closed in 1998 after three decades business. The vacant lot on Chapman Avenue has drawn all kinds of attention and questions over the years, with some residents even writing in to ask the Register if the site was haunted.
People swinging by the lot now won’t find ghouls or ghosts – just a banner announcing the kidney care center is coming soon. The building’s familiar red striping, faded signs and boarded-up windows have been replaced by signs of rehabilitation.
