Singer-songwriter David Crosby once took 21 years between solo albums but after “Lighthouse” landed in October it took less than six months for Crosby to get its follow-up “Sky Trails” ready for advance sales at stops of the tour that kicked off this month.
So what’s going on? we asked the musician whose roots reach back to Crosby, Stills & Nash — and sometimes Young — and the Byrds before that.
“It’s two things,” Crosby says by phone from his home in Santa Ynez. “I’m very happy with my family and very happy in my life.”
And then there’s the break-up of Crosby, Stills & Nash for what feels like the final time given the bitter words traded between Graham Nash and Crosby over the last year or so.
