Four men suspected of shooting a man to death have been charged with special-circumstances murder, with one remaining a fugitive, Orange County Superior Court records show.
According to a felony complaint, Charles Frederick Coghill, Ysrael Cardova, Ricardo Valenzuela and Augustina Velasquez are accused of killing “Robert R.” during a burglary on Jan. 19.
Valenzuela and Velasquez had a machine gun, according to the court filing, while Coghill was armed with an unspecified firearm.
All four have been charged with murder and first-degree residential burglary. Prosecutors in the court filing also alleged that the four took part in a special-circumstances murder, leaving the door open to a death-penalty trial.
