The Los Angeles Lakers are headed to the Orlando bubble without two point guards. Avery Bradley opted to sit out of the Orlando bubble, leaving the Lakers already without their starting point guard. Last week during the training camp period in Disney World, Rajon Rondo broke his thumb and is now set to miss the next 6-8 weeks. Head coach Frank Vogel is confident that the veteran point guard will return to the Los Angeles Lakers in time for a playoff run, but nothing is certain at this point in time. However, Rajon Rondo did undergo a successful surgery on Wednesday afternoon.

Markieff Morris is one of the newest Los Angeles Lakers, but he is reportedly not with the team as they ramp up their mini training camp. The reason as to why Markieff Morris isn’t with the team is completely up in the air, but the only thing we know now is that he isn’t in Orlando as the Los Angeles Lakers prepare to restart their season at the end of July. Markieff Morris was acquired as a stretch four after being waived by the Detroit Pistons in the middle of the season.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ starting five is going to look different when the NBA returns to play at the end of July. Avery Bradley started nearly every single game leading up to the NBA’s hiatus, but now that he is out, the Lakers are expected to look at Kentavious Caldwell-pope as the next starter. Caldwell-Pope started 20 regular season games while Avery Bradley was out earlier in the year, and now he could find himself right back in the starting five during this very important stretch for the Lakers. Caldwell-Pope has proven himself as one of the most consistent options off the bench for Los Angeles all year long, but now that his role is changing, will his play follow suit?
