Lakers trade rumors have also linked Raptors’ PG Kyle Lowry to the purple and gold. While the Raptors are in contention for a top spot in the Eastern Conference, they could be sellers at the deadline. The Raptors could send off Lowry and elect to rebuild around young talent like Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet. Despite Kyle Lowry leading the team in points and assists per game this season, VanVleet has proven he can plug in at guard without a dramatic drop off. For the Lakers, Kyle Lowry would provided a secondary ball handler and some valuable playoff experience after he won the NBA Finals with the Toronto Raptors last season
Vince Carter is another name that has circled Lakers trade rumors this season. Vince Carter is on the Atlanta Hawks, who is the worst team in the NBA this year. Carter would come really cheap for the Los Angeles Lakers but would provide some valuable veteran experience on the Lakers’ bench. Vince Carter has announced that he is planning on retiring at the end of this season, and he is yet to win a ring. If he were to join the Lakers, he would join a team that is championship ready, and he would have a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs and make his first NBA Finals appearance.
