Lakers rumors are swirling around Giannis Antetokounmpo joining the Lakers in 2021. In a recent interview, Giannis said it would be “awesome” to play with his two brothers, Kostas and Thanasis, listing L.A. as a possible destination. The Lakers certainly have the cap space but would LBJ take a pay cut to play on yet another “super team”? IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW Hannah Kulik, host of the Lakers Report, discusses what it would it take to get the Greek Freak to LA, plus Kyle Kuzma trade rumors & players the Lakers should target if and when they are bought out.

Kyle Kuzma trade rumors are BACK, but they never really went away. Kuz cannot stay out of the headlines and is now being targeted as the player holding the Lakers back. An anonymous NBA exec said that if the Lakers want to improve, they need to part ways with Kyle Kuzma. Before the trade deadline, Los Angeles was open to trading Kuz. However, Hannah believes that Kuz adds young talent to the roster and it’s apparent he can be an asset given the opportunity. He put up 25+ points in back-to-back games while AD was out. Trading Kuzma this summer is not the answer.
The Lakers are still a top title contender after the All-Star break but are still missing a wing defender. While they missed their opportunity in the NBA Trade Deadline, there are a few NBA buyout candidates that the Lakers have been keeping up with. The first is Tristan Thompson, who is averaging career highs in points, assists and rebounds this year. Thompson has experience playing with LeBron and provides a veteran presence come playoff time.
Moe Harkless is the other buyout candidate that has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. Harkless’ stats won’t jump off the page at you, however, he would fill the need as a wing defender. Harkless was sent to the Knicks as part of the Marcus Morris trade, however, with the lack of success in New York he is a prime buyout candidate. Which player will the Lakers sign? Hannah gives her preference in today’s video.
