The NBA is set to return at the end of July, but some players like Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets, Avery Bradley and Dwight Howard of the Los Angeles Lakers are considering skipping the rest of the season because of healthy concerns and social injustice going on around the country. Kyrie Irving, who is the vice president of the NBA Players’ Association, has really spoken up on the issues of race in the United State and is not in agreement with the NBA’s decision to resume the 2020 season in Orlando. Whether or not his opinion on the matter will be taken into consideration remains to be seen, but it is clear that the NBA will NOT punish players if they choose to skip games for fear of the virus or social injustice. Jimmy Crowther, host of the Lakers Report, weighs in on the latest Lakers rumors and news IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW.

Lakers rumors have linked Goran Dragic of the Miami Heat to the Lakers as an “ambitious” free agent target this summer. Dragic has been moved to primarily a back-up role with the Heat this season, but he has thrived in that role and has proven successful when healthy. His injuries have hindered him throughout the season, but at 33 years old and slowly getting back to his normal playing self, he still has a few good years left in the league. The question now is whether or not those years will be spent with the Los Angeles Lakers.
NBC Sports and CBS Sports both put out new 2020 NBA Mock Drafts and each of them have the Los Angeles Lakers selecting a point guard with the 29th overall pick in the draft. One point guard the Lakers could target with that pick is Cassius Winston out of Michigan State. The other point guard that many of the NBA Draft experts have the Lakers selecting is Tre Jones out of Duke. Both players are considered veterans at the collegiate level and could make an immediate impact for a team looking to make a deep playoff push next season.
