The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 123-101 in their NBA preseason opener on October 5th & Lakers Report host Hannah Kulik has 3 major takeaways from the Lakers’ preseason win over the Warriors. Anthony Davis’ Laker debut was impressive to say the least. Davis scored 22 points & 10 rebounds, including 17 points & 7 rebounds in the first quarter alone. LeBron James contributed with 15 points & 8 assists in 18 minutes. The Lakers’ superstar duo of LBJ & AD is going to be among the best in the NBA. Could they end up being one of the best NBA duos in history?

JaVale McGee, Dwight Howard & Anthony Davis took care of boards & it is evident that the Lakers will be a much improved rebounding team during the 2019-20 NBA season. Could the Lakers have one of the best rebounding teams in the entire league? Another Laker who put up an impressive performance is Troy Daniels. Daniels surprisingly turned some heads by putting up 14 points in his first game as a Laker. Because of injuries, Daniels could get some significant playing time this preseason & if he keeps performing at a high level, he could earn more playing time during the regular season.

Finally, one burning question that didn’t get answered against Golden State is who will be the Lakers’ starting point guard? Avery Bradley got the starting nod in game 1, but he got into foul trouble early. Rajon Rondo got a good amount of time at PG while Alex Caruso didn’t get any playing time until the 2nd half. LeBron James also ran the point forward position some during the game, so it is unclear what the Lakers will decide to do at PG when regular season comes around.
