The Lakers have been one of the best defensive teams in the league to start the 2019-20 NBA season, especially in second halves. Could the Lakers be the best defensive team in the NBA this season? Anthony Davis is excelling on both ends of the floor as he’s averaging almost 30 points per game and just had a 40 rebound, 20 block game against the Grizzlies. Could AD win MVP? If LeBron James and Anthony Davis get some consistency from the Lakers’ guards, this team will be hard to beat especially if Dwight Howard continues to play at a high level.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both been very good to start this season. But what about the rest of the Lakers starting five? Avery Bradley and Danny Green have plugged in nicely, but Javale McGee has been underwhelming at the center position. Dwight Howard might take his starting spot. The Lakers’ bench has been inconsistent, but overall pretty good. Look for that unit to improve once Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma get back and healthy.
