The Los Angeles Lakers have been generally expected to take UCLA PG Lonzo Ball with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft ever since they were awarded the pick in the lottery, even putting D'Angelo Russell on the trade block later that same night.
However, it appears the Lakers may be legitimately considering Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox as well. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, the Lakers will have Fox in for a workout in a couple of weeks.
Not surprising: De'Aaron Fox plans to work out for Lakers and Sixers. Lakers' workout likely to happen mid-June (week of 11-17)

Los Angeles reportedly wants Fox and Ball to have a head-to-head workout for them, though that is not going to happen.
Fox had his best game of the season against Ball's UCLA team in the NCAA Tournament, recording 39 points and four assists in their Sweet 16 matchup.
Lakers president Magic Johnson was at that game, and it's clear that it had a definite impact on him and his view of Fox, along with many other front office people. That performance has helped solidify Fox as a top-five pick.
Fox averaged 16.7 points with 4.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game last season.
