The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be competing for an NBA Championship this summer in the NBA bubble, but could they look to add another piece this offseason? Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is on the outside looking in for the 2020 NBA playoffs, and if his team doesn’t make it to the NBA playoffs, could he force the Portland Trail Blazers to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason for Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, Avery Bradley, Quinn Cook and a couple first-round picks?
Dennis Schroder of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been one of the best sixth men in the NBA this year. The Los Angeles Lakers called the Thunder before the NBA trade deadline about a potential trade to land him on the Lakers, but nothing came to fruition. Could the Los Angeles Lakers swap Danny Green and a first-round pick for Dennis Schroder this offseason?
Anthony Davis has been one of the best players in the NBA this season, but he will hit free agency this summer when he opts out of his contract. However, according to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Lakers have every intention of re-signing him this summer. Whether or not the NBA is able to play games and sell tickets, the Los Angeles Lakers will have enough money in their pockets from their local television deal to re-sign their star player, Anthony Davis, to a max contract.
JR Smith had a great game for the Lakers against the Washington Wizards with 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. Dion Waiters didn’t have an incredible game for the Los Angeles Lakers, but one of the beauties of having both JR Smith and Dion Waiters on the team is that if one of them is off, odds are that the other one is on that night, and that was exactly what happened in the Los Angeles Lakers final scrimmage against the Washington Wizards on Monday afternoon.
