Anthony Davis has only played in 3 preseason games for the Los Angeles Lakers and LA’s new duo of AD and LeBron has Laker fans extremely excited for the regular season. However, they might have to wait. Davis injured his thumb in the first quarter of the second game vs. the Brooklyn Nets and was diagnosed with a grade 1 thumb sprain. Anthony Davis is set to receive an MRI for more details on what is wrong but worst-case scenario Davis could miss around a month. Lakers Report host Jimmy Crowther updates you on AD’s injury, recaps the preseason games in China, and looks ahead to Lakers vs. Warriors IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW.

The Nets beat the Lakers in back-to-back games in the NBA preseason games in China. LeBron James, Rajon Rondo and Anthony Davis all played 20+ minutes in the first game, scoring 20, 18 and 16 points respectively. However, the Lakers shot just 33.7% from the field and they turned the ball over 20 times. Overall, the offense is still working through some growing pains, even with James and Davis on the court.
The Lakers will look to bounce back in a big way when they face the Golden State Warriors. Steph Curry and Co. are 1-1 this preseason, with a loss to the Lakers and a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Steph Curry looked like, well, Steph Curry against the Timberwolves, accounting for 40 points. The Warriors and Lakers will play at Staples Center on Monday and Wednesday night, then wrap up the preseason against each other in Chase Center. With AD’s extensive injury history, don’t expect him to play much the remainder of the preseason, even if the test results are positive.
