In today's Lakers rumors and news update, while the Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to be part of a potential three-way trade which would send Kevin Love to the Golden State Warriors, some NBA minds still believe that the Lakers are frontrunners to land the perennial All-Star.
According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, "two NBA executives, when asked where they thought Minnesota star forward Kevin Love would end up, said the Los Angeles Lakers — even though Golden State appears to be the front-runners for his services."
In the proposed three-way deal, the Lakers would ship the #7 pick to Minnesota while landing Warriors guard Klay Thompson in return.
However, Love's ties to the Los Angeles-area are undeniable. He played college ball at UCLA, he met his girlfriend at UCLA, and he has expressed interest before in playing under the bright lights of Staples Center.
Whether the Lakers can swing a deal now, or wait to see if Love remains in Minnesota through the 2014-15 season, Los Angeles still remains an intriguing option for one of the most dominant offensive forces in the game.
