Chat Sports is fielding Lakers trade rumors left and right with two days until the NBA trade deadline, and now it looks as if there is another possible suitor for the services of LA Lakers star Pau Gasol.
As reported by Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Bobcats have been attempting to piece together a viable trade scenario for the LA Lakers big man--
"The Charlotte Bobcats have been in contact with the Los Angeles Lakers concerning veteran big man Pau Gasol, but a source familiar with the discussion downplayed the likelihood Gasol would end up a Bobcat by Thursday’s NBA trade deadline."
If the Charlotte Bobcats were to prove the trade rumors true, they would most likely have to give the LA Lakers a first-round pick, along with some of the young talent which has kept them in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race at 23-30.
However, the biggest obstacle for the Charlotte Bobcats and LA Lakers to make such a move would be the simple fact that the Bobcats would most likely only be able to retain Pau Gasol's services through this season--making the LA Lakers' 4-time NBA All-Star an extremely costly rental for the franchise.
