In this Lakers rumors and news update, Los Angeles Lakers free agent Pau Gasol could very well be Windy City-bound. However, the Lakers reportedly won't help matters with a sign-and-trade for Chicago Bulls big man Carlos Boozer.
Here's Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports with the scoop:
Pau Gasol could find his way to Chicago, but it's unlikely to be in a sign-and-trade for Carlos Boozer, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

The Lakers have reportedly been hesitant to take on Boozer's $16.8 million price tag, regardless of the fact that his huge contract expires at the end of the 2014-15 NBA season.
ESPN's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne report that the Lakers were looking for an additional "young asset" to facilitate a deal, but those talks seem to have fallen through.
While this doesn't necessarily mean that the teams can't swing some version of a sign-and-trade, it makes it a lot more difficult unless the Bulls decide to use their amnesty clause on Boozer.
