Looks like the Lakers are making another serious push for Howard.
A lot has changed in the Howard scenario.
Brooklyn no longer seems to be a possible destination for the Magic's big man, but he still seems to want out of Orlando.
Common sense tells you that if Howard is traded to L.A., he would at least have to consider re-signing after his contract runs out this year. However Howard hasn't seemed very receptive to being a Laker, long-term.
If the Lakers are still perusing a deal without confirmation that Howard would resign, they have a lot to lose.
Big man Andrew Bynum is the most important and biggest piece the Lakers would certainly lose in a Howard deal. Forward Pau Gasol could also be on his way out.
Some have questioned if landing Howard is worth losing Bynum and Gasol.
