Despite his generally carefree persona and almost permanent smile, Nick Young has earned the respect of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates and head coach Byron Scott.
Scott praised Young in a recent interview with Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News, addressing the positive impact that the dynamic sixth man has had on the team.
“The one thing Nick does bring is a lot of playfulness and laughter and practice and games. He’s always smiling so you have no choice but to like the kid,” Scott said.”The thing I love about him the most is with all the playfulness that he has, he wants to win. That’s big time.”
Young averaged a team-high 17.9 points per game last season with Kobe Bryant sidelined due to injury, and he remains one of the few options on the roster that Kobe appears comfortable with deferring some of the offensive load to.
