We are just one day away from the 2015 NBA Draft, which means we're just one day away from reaching an end to all the speculation surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers' #2 pick. With that being said, here's everything Lakers fans need to know heading into Thursday's draft showcase.
Kevin Love to affect draft plans?
League sources have tell ESPN.com that the Lakers and the Celtics are among the group of teams readying to make a run at the recently opted-out Kevin Love in free agency. Those same sources add that the Portland Trail Blazers are also in the mix.
With that being said, it's possible (if not entirely plausible) that the Lakers' draft plans could reflect this tact, potentially leading the team to consider backcourt options like Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell rather than a stretch four or traditional big man.
Kings owner blocking DeMarcus Cousins deal?
It was reported by several NBA sources on Monday that the Los Angeles Lakers are willing to trade down out of the #2 slot to land Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins.
However, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is reportedly standing in the way of such a deal, denying Kings coach George Karl the option to offload Cousins in any trade scenario.
Lakers not expected to draft Kristaps Porzingis at #2
FOX Sports is reporting that the Lakers are not expected to use their #2 pick on young international star Kristaps Porzingis. Rather, the Lakers are likely to either use the selection as trade ammunition or select a more known Stateside commodity like Duke's Jahlil Okafor.
