Kobe Bryant is making his season debut on Sunday December 8, a mere eight months after going down to a torn Achilles. This is easily the quickest return from this type of injury in NBA history.
Sunday is a game against the Toronto Raptors, a team who Bryant loves to play against. Kobe has had five games of over 40 points which includes his epic 81-point performance. For his career Bryant averages 28.3 PPG against the Raptors. However, it won't be his scoring that shines through during his debut on Sunday night.
Bryant has said that he likes the team that has been running without him and that they finally have the types of players who compete night in and night out. He will be asked to handle the ball more with Jordan Farmar out for four-weeks and Steve Nash playing it extra safe on his return. There was a few times last season where Kobe went on a string of games averaging over ten assist per game (he finished the last month of the year with 7.5 APG). Sunday night will start another string of these games once again.
