Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers franchise have been joined at the hip through better or worse, thick and through thin for almost two decades.
So, when rumors of a potential trade of the Black Mamba to the New York Knicks surfaced, many folks were rightly skeptical.
According to Adam Zagoria of NBA.com, even those inside the game are calling BS on the speculation:
NBA GM on who is talking Kobe to the #Knicks: 'Only the media.'

Not only does the trade not make sense from a marketing perspective for the Lakers, it doesn't exactly fit with new New York Knicks president Phil Jackson's long-term plan:
An NBA assistant mentioned Kobe to the #Knicks to me over the summer and that chatter is now heating up. Seems counter to #Knicks long plan.

Kobe Bryant is not likely to leave Los Angeles at all, let alone in such a nonsensical deal. However, that's not likely to keep the rumors from circulating.
