Snow fell here Tuesday afternoon in great, swirling flurries, much like the flurries of shots the Sabres flung at Kings goaltenders Peter Budaj and Jeff Zatkoff at KeyBank Center. A four-goal Buffalo outburst in the second period, fueled by two goals from second-year standout Jack Eichel, led the Sabres to a 6-3 victory over the Kings and continued the Kings’ inexplicable futility here.
The Kings have not won a game in Buffalo since Feb. 21, 2003. Because there were NHL seasons when East teams and West teams didn’t play each other, that encompasses only eight games, but it’s still baffling.
