A gorgeous, but controversial glove save made by Jonathan Quick on Connor McDavid in the final seconds secured a 3-2 win for the Kings over the Edmonton Oilers Sunday evening at Rexall Place, their fifth-straight.
The Kings bounced back from an early one-goal deficit, and didn’t cave when the Oilers scored a game-tying goal with six minutes to play in regulation.
A mere 1:22 after Benoit Pouliot got the Oilers on the board in the first, Jeff Carter responded with his third goal of the season, keeping the Kings in check with a feisty, offensively aggressive Edmonton roster.
