Jewels from the Crown: You played with the New Haven Nighthawks from 1981-84. Back then, New Haven was the Kings' AHL team. Were you signed with the Kings or Nighthawks?
Mark Morris: The Kings. I went to Colgate University. I signed a three-way contract. And I stuck in the AHL. Halfway through [1981-82], I got put on loan to the [Central Hockey League's] Dallas Black Hawks. And I was crushed. It was a very tough time knowing that I had gone through all the trials and tribulations of being a young player trying to make it in the American League, and then I found out that I was being moved halfway through the season.
