The only way Tanner Pearson’s goal against the Kings could have been more storybook would have been if it stood as the game winner.
It nearly did, too — Alex Iafallo’s game tying goal at 12:30 in the third period took away that distinction, but it was close.
But how many times have we seen it before? A former King goes to his new home, and whether he does or does not immediately start lighting up the scoresheet, he almost always finds a way to make his old team pay.
And, oh, boy, Pearson did just that.
