Former center for the Los Angeles Kings, Mike Richards, intends to plead not guilty to his charge for possession of a controlled substance. Richards was arrested on June 17 while crossing into Canada at the Emerson border entry. He was found to have the painkiller drug, oxycodone, in his possession.
“He intends to plead not guilty,” David Humphrey, a Toronto-based lawyer representing the 30-year-old former L.A. Kings centre, told CBC News on Thursday.
Mike Richards did not appear in court and entered no plea in his hearing today (September 10). His case has been adjourned and set for December 8.
