Three run ins with the law over 9 months has led the Los Angeles Kings to hire former NHL enforcer, Brantt Myhres, as Player Assistance Director. The LA Times reports GM, Dean Lombardi, took a significant step toward player health by bringing in the veteran to nurture the team. This isn’t all that surprising considering Lombardi knew he needed to address domestic violence and drug abuse with his team this earlier this year.
Myhres, now 41, had his career ended in 2006 after posting “dirty” drug tests. The NHL banned him from the league for his drug abuse.
