The Los Angeles Kings went down for the 3rd game straight against the Vancouver Canucks last night in a 3-0 loss. This season opening home stand isn’t going as anyone would have hoped, but there is still time to turn it around. Here are some notes to keep an eye on after last night’s loss:
– the Kings were outshot 25-15. 15 being the lowest amount of shots they’ve had this season so far
– top players have been held off the score sheet in the first 3 games: Kopitar, Lucic, Gaborik, Pearson
– Lucic had his strongest performance so far and leads the team with 12 hits
– the Shore, Lewis, Pearson line was the most effective in the offensive zone
– newcomer, Christian Ehrhoff, is a -5 in his 3 games as a King — Muzzin is the only player worst in that category with a -6
– Jeff Carter was impressive in the face-off circle winning 13 of 17
– Jonathan Quick had a better game last night and made a Quick-like save on Vrbata
If you’ve followed the team for a while, you know not to panic too much with their slow start.
