Kings' Jonathan Quick will consult with several doctors on how to handle injury

Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi said that injured goalie Jonathan Quick will consult with several doctors in an effort to determine the course of treatment and rehabilitation.

Quick was injured late in the first period of Wednesday's season-opening loss at San Jose.

He suffered a Grade 2 groin strain almost three years ago in Buffalo and missed nearly two months of action. Lombardi said on Friday that the latest injury is in the same area.

On Thursday, the two-time finalist for the Vezina Trophy — given to the NHL’s top goalie — was placed on injured reserve with what the team described as a lower-body injury.
