LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick set a new mark for U.S. born goalies by securing his 41st career regular-season shutout. It came at the conclusion of tonight’s 5-0 win in Chicago.
Quick entered the game tied with both John Vanbiesbrouck and Frank Brimsek for most shutouts (40) all-time among American goaltenders. Quick also has nine career shutouts in postseason play, tied for the most among Americans with Mike Richter. Earlier this season, Quick was named to his second NHL All Star Game (also 2012), he was named the first star of the week on Jan.
