    • France and Belgium will be the first to play for a place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup final. Tuesday's match will be their first competitive meeting between the two nations since the 1986 World Cup, where France won 4-2. Excluding shootouts, France has lost just one of their last 13 games in knockout rounds (10W 2D 1L). This is only Belgium’s second appearance in the semifinals, against a more experienced France who will compete in their sixth appearance in this stage.
