If Robbie Rogers is chosen to represent the United States at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, he’s determined to make a statement.
In an interview with Chelsea Handler for her new Netflix show, Rogers addressed FIFA corruption and the anti-LGBT laws in Russia. Seated alongside Los Angeles Times sports writer Bill Plaschke, Rogers said that he’ll get colorful if he’s selected to play for the United States.
"If I were on the team I'd go and tie some glitter," Rogers said, "I'd have glitter, I'd make sure people knew I was gay so I could be present and people would know.
